Lots of people ask me… Why do I do what I do?
So I thought it was time to share a little of my personal story…
I believe it goes way back to when I was 2 years old when my parents divorced. As a young girl, I was deeply impacted by this separation and believe this was one event that changed my life forever. No blame or shame though… I love both my parents with all my heart and I absolutely know that they were doing the best they could with the tools and skills they had at the time. Yet I was still an innocent bystander to the fallout of their relationship breaking down.
As a young girl/teenager, I can remember thinking to myself “I never want to get divorced”.
I had a desire deep in my heart and soul to do better and be better.
I knew that it was possible, I just didn’t know how.
This desire led me on a personal journey of growth from 19 years of age. I left Australia, moved to London for many years, where I studied and had a Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy practice, helping people to live their best life. Then moved to New Zealand for a couple of years and finally came home to Perth, got married and became a mum of 2 amazing children.
Fast forward 11 years, to this marriage ending and then having the painful experience of watching my own children go through the fallout of separation and knowing that generational history was repeating. This was one of the most painful experiences I have ever had.
Whilst it was one of the hardest times in my life, it was also one that I healed and grew the most from. It taught me so many things and deepened my desire to help couples (not that I knew it at the time!).
I single parented for a number of years and then met my husband now. We have 6 amazing children between us, a blended family, you could say the common day Brady Bunch! We have a wonderful family.
With my deep desire to do better and be better, I became even more determined to learn how to create generational change in my relationship and family. My husband and I both are very committed to being the best role models for our children.
We strive every day to provide a loving, kind, caring, authentic, compassionate and supportive relationship and family environment.
We strive to be the change in our family so that our children and generations to come can heal and benefit.
In my heart, I want every couple to know how to be loving and truly happy together and to be the best role models for their children.
I believe my own journey has played a huge role in my desire to make a difference in people’s lives and relationships.
That’s why my mission is to create generational change in connection and relationships one couple at a time…
Is it always easy? Definitely not!
Is it always worth it? Yes, absolutely!
